Healing is a trade-off in Chained Beasts. The developer’s October 10 announcement says that recovering between rounds requires accepting an affliction. A decision that restores health can therefore change the way you play the next encounter.

Which effects have official explanations?

Affliction Developer-described effect What to consider next
Annoying Nearby allies may attack Reconsider how closely the group clusters
Impulsive Forces a skill choice every second level and an item purchase at each shop Keep your plans flexible rather than depending on saving indefinitely
Infatuated Camera follows a particular ally; looking toward you gives a 10% damage boost Discuss positioning and the changed camera view

The effect column paraphrases the official announcement. The final column is editorial advice, not a tested counter or a guarantee of safe spacing.

How should you compare a healing offer?

Read the complete description in your current game. Ask which decision the effect changes: movement, visibility, teammate spacing or spending. Then discuss that change with your group before the next fight.

A useful question is: can we adapt our plan to this drawback? That is more practical than assuming the offer is harmless because it restores health. This is a decision framework, not a universal recommendation to accept or reject healing.

What does this guide leave unconfirmed?

The official announcement lists several additional affliction names as a guessing game. A name alone does not establish its effect. This guide therefore does not infer mechanics for those names, assign a best affliction or invent removal prices.

The broader developer overview mentions potions, side effects and surgery, but it does not document a complete surgery procedure or a guaranteed cure. Demo-era restrictions should not be transferred to the released game without checking the current interface.

What version does this cover?

These notes use public information available on October 16, 2026. The examples come from a pre-launch announcement and should be compared with the tooltips in your installed game. If a patch changes an effect, the installed description takes priority over an old article.
