Chained Beasts is released on Steam. Its developer also has plans for additional content, but a roadmap should not be read as a patch note for your installed build.

What belongs to the launch release?

The October 15 launch announcement describes a campaign spanning three acts, with nine battles before the final encounter. It also advertises ten difficulty levels, eight unlockable beasts and beast variants, more than 70 skills, more than 70 afflictions and over 40 purchasable items.

These are the developer’s launch-scope counts. They do not provide individual unlock conditions, a complete item database or a tested balance ranking.

What is planned after launch?

Window in the October 12 roadmap Announced intention Status on October 16
December 2026 Version 1.1, adding an arena and boss, a weapon and enemies Future plan
Q1 2027 A PvP mode, with additional skills and afflictions also discussed Future intention
Later More campaign content, beasts, variants or cosmetics depending on interest No fixed commitment documented here

Do not treat these windows as guaranteed delivery dates. Check a later official release announcement before describing any planned feature as available.

What is the current version number?

The roadmap refers to content after 1.0, but the public pages checked for this article do not establish an exact installed patch or Steam build number. This page therefore uses a dated source snapshot instead of claiming to know the latest executable version.

How can you check whether an update is actually live?

  1. Open the game’s official Steam news feed.
  2. Look for a release or patch announcement rather than a future-facing roadmap.
  3. Compare the announcement’s platform and date with your installed copy.
  4. Recheck any guide that depends on changed mechanics.

This sequence is editorial verification advice. It does not claim a particular Steam menu path or update propagation time.

Sources: launch announcement and post-launch roadmap. AI source check: October 16, 2026. No human review or hands-on testing is claimed.

For the currently documented mechanics, see the weapon guide and affliction guide. Read more about this independent project on the About page.
